Coin Highlights:
The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park encompasses 323,431 acres of land on the big island of Hawaii, and contains two of the most active volcanoes in the world: Kilauea and Mauna Loa. Visitors enjoy unique opportunities to camp in the park and hike within distance of the active volcanoes.
Released as the fourth coin in the 2012 series of America the Beautiful coins, the Hawaii Volcanoes Silver Coin honors the nations 50th and final state. Each coin in the series, scheduled to feature 56 coins in total, will honor places, monuments, and moments from American history.
On the reverse side of the coin is the image of Kilauea as an eruption occurs along its eastern edge. Kilauea is among the worlds most active volcanic sites, and regularly erupts to the delight of visitors.
The obverse side of the coin is graced by the left-profile bust of President George Washington. Similar to the obverse side of standard quarters, the image is surrounded by the engravings United States of America, Liberty, and In God We Trust.
Each coin available in this product listing has been graded a near-perfect MS69 by the PCGS. With its full, original luster still visible, these coins have no more than two detracting flaws, contact marks, or blemishes.
